Our goals

Knowledge Platform

Creating and getting knowledge by participating in workshops, lectures and talking with experts. In the future, the aim is to create a research group and a platform were all knowledge can be shared with our stakeholders.

Designing long term

Helping communities displaced by earthquakes through an innovative collaboration that provides secure long-term housing by using new sustainable methods and materials of building earthquake proof buildings.

Construction for people

By using local materials, understanding the geographical & cultural situation, understanding the climate and by talking to people to learn their wishes prioritizing, we aim to construct with and for people.

Our principles

We are devoted to designing earthquake-resistant housing solutions, ensuring safety for everyone in vulnerable regions.

We insist on offering cost-effective housing solutions, providing equal opportunities for safety and comfort to all, irrespective of economic background.

Sustainability lies at the core of our projects, fostering self-sufficiency within communities and promoting ecological balance.

We are committed to creating modular designs, allowing adaptability to fit diverse cultures and local preferences. Modularity is fundamental to our innovative approach.

We prioritise community engagement, avoiding conflicts of interest, and ensuring user satisfaction. Active involvement in the community is integral to our design philosophy.

We believe in the power of diversity and actively seek varied expertise and backgrounds. Collaborating with individuals from different disciplines enriches our perspective and knowledge.

We are advocates for knowledge-sharing. By disseminating our expertise, we aim to empower others, creating an open-access knowledge platform to prevent errors in the building and design processes.

Social Design Goals

After the field trips, we needed to translate our research outcomes into a design language. First we started with the social aspects of the topics we observed. These are safety, involvement of people and affordability.

Technical Design Goals

To translate these issues as a solution to the technical approach we choose some keywords to focus on; modularity, adaptability, flexibility, and sustainability.

Safety is an issue in two main areas; the fear of getting into big concrete blocks again and moving to new neighborhoods while leaving their community behind.

According to our research, after disasters involvement in rebuilding your own house, neighborhood, or city helps with the healing process and also helps us as architects to understand their lifestyle better. This way we can avoid top-down designing.

Affordability is a big topic since there is a very big damage to the economic life there. Long-term planning is the affordable key point here. How can we help the communities there to build their long-term house fast and conveniently?

Modularity responds to easier and faster building.

Adaptability is the key to applying our design to different site shapes and urban characteristics.

Flexibility as an answer to different family scenarios and to extend the structure in time.

Sustainability helps to create more resistant communities against water and energy problems after disasters and maintaining their needs for longer periods.
