Syrian Team

Since June 2023, a new team has been created under the umbrella framework of the Architectural Recovery Team to
focus on the situation in Northern Syria. Its primary focus has been on creating a network of connections for that region and is based on researching the possibilities. The team seeks collaboration with NGOs and individuals who can act as implementing partners for our prototype.

Our ultimate goal is to propose a design intervention, represented in a prototype that uplifts the living conditions at previously identified sites. Our implementing partner should be willing to transport the prototype and place it in an experimental site in Northern Syria. After evaluating the performance of the prototype and making the needed adjustments, a new phase of constructing dignified and long-term housing will start. We believe that in such a challenging context as Syria, innovation and resourcefulness are indispensable.

Therefore, we are looking to research solutions that not only provide immediate help but also help rebuild communities in the long term.
